Dr. Carlo Dionisi Vici,

graduated in Medicine and obtained board certification in Pediatrics at “la Sapienza” University in Rome. Is the head of the Division of Metabolic Diseases at the Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital in Rome, Italy. He does translation research in inborn errors of metabolism with a specific interest in urea cycle disorders, organic acidaemias, homocystinurias and remethylation defects, on storage and autophagy-related disorders.

The research has been mainly focused on natural disease history, identifying new genes and diseases, disease biomarkers and newborn screening, and on novel therapeutic approaches (including organ transplantation), the development of guidelines for IEM, and applied new technologies to improve diagnosis, prevention and treatment of metabolic diseases.
